Kenneth ‘Skinny’ Melton

Farmer born in Simpsonville, South Carolina with experience farming out at Wadmalaw Island before moving to Johns Island. Skinny received his BA in English at the College of Charleston, and has now dedicated his life to farming.


Jason Bush

Farmhand from Athens, Georgia with experience farming on Wadmalaw Island and in McClellanville, SC.  Jay does it all on the farm from harvesting vegetables and eggs, to caring for the chickens and plowing the fields.  Since receiving a BBA in Economics at the University of Georgia, he has pursued a career in the local food movement.  An avid sports lover, he is also Commissioner of the South Carolina Gas-Powered Leaf Blower Hockey Association.
Sam Watson

Lowcountry Local Frist apprentice that’s been with us since the beginning of the 2013 season.  This year Sam has helped seed up trays, weed, lay and remove plastic, and harvest vegetables.
Anna Goodenough

Part-time farmhand working her third season out at Lowland Farms.  Anna helps harvest as well as cut and arrange flowers out at the farm.
