Kenneth 'Skinny’ Melton was born in South Carolina and received a BA in English at the College of Charleston. Over ten years of experience farming the Sea Islands from tomatoes and truck crops on Wadmalaw Island to his current diversified farm on Johns Island. Skinny manages the family farm with help of his farmhands, parents, sisters, four children, and four dogs. Skinny has dedicated his life to farming for the benefit of future generations and the Sea Island community.
Anna started working for Lowland Farms in April of 2018 scared of bugs and dirt- and simply in need of a job. Little did she know she would still be at Lowland Farms over two years later taking pride in a hard days’ work. The reward of feeding those in the community with local, organic, quality produce is greater than she could have imagined. Anna has found her true passion in farming and is an essential part of the Lowland Farms family.
